Dear Conway Voters,
As a Conway city council candidate, there are several ways to improve development to ensure sustainability, affordability, increase property values, mitigates historical flooding, and preserves natural resources and habitats. Here are the top five ways I plan to address this priority:
1. Encourage sustainable development practices: I will encourage developers to implement sustainable low impact- development practices such as green building, rain gardens, permeable pavements, and other techniques to mitigate stormwater runoff. This will help reduce flooding, improve water quality, and preserve natural habitats.
2. Promote mixed-use development: I will promote mixed-use development that combines residential, commercial, and office spaces. This will create a more walkable community, reduce traffic congestion, and increase property values.
3. Invest in infrastructure: I will fight to invest in infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and public transportation to support development. This will make it easier for people to get around, attract businesses, and create jobs.
4. Provide affordable housing: I will encourage developers to include affordable housing options in their developments. This will ensure that people of all income levels have access to housing and help reduce homelessness.
5. I will work to preserve our unique culture and heritage such as historical sites and landmarks and natural resources in the city by working with developers to incorporate them into their projects. This will increase the cultural value of Conway and attract more tourists.
By implementing these five strategies, we can help improve development in Conway while ensuring it's safe, sustainable, affordable, increases property values, mitigates historical flooding, and preserves natural resources and habitats.
